Buenos Aires, March 31 (NA) – Dua Lipa, one of the UK's most successful musical artists and known for her love of reading, has been chosen as the curator of the London Literature Festival. The festival is held every autumn at the Southbank cultural complex, on the banks of the River Thames. The 19th edition of the festival will take place from October 21 to November 1 and will be one of the highlights of Southbank's 75th anniversary, a place where theatre, film, literature and the arts in general come together. Showing her eclectic taste, she chose 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel García Márquez, and 'The Bad Habit' by Alana Portero, among books translated from Spanish. Dua Lipa, who is often seen with a book under her arm, founded a virtual book club called Service95 Book Club. 'Reading has given me roots at every stage of my life, from being a girl in a new country at school, or it has given me a quiet refuge when I am on tour. Being a curator of the festival is a dream come true,' said the singer, a multiple Grammy and Brits Award winner. Dua Lipa's recommended books are very diverse: there is plenty of fiction, as well as essays on feminism, short story collections, and translated literature.
